Rempel Meats has served the Abbotsford area for over 40 years with quality meat products. Our store is famous for our farmer’s sausage made in-house and our fresh beef and pork. Choose from great cuts of meat including a wide selection of bacon, salami, beef jerkies and other deli items.
Our Famous Mennonite-Style Smoked Sausage: An International Sensation!
Our Mennonite-style farmer’s smoked sausage is incredibly popular; people come from all over for this sausage! We even had an exchange student that was visiting here in the lower mainland and when he tasted the sausage, he went back to Japan and brought his parents to try it! We also have a lady who comes in every year from Kentucky just to purchase our farmer’s sausage!
Over The Years
The original business was opened by Lawrence and Reta Rempel back in the in 1960’s custom cutting and game cutting. When the original building was destroyed by fire, the Rempels built a new store, opened in 1973. Retail sales were introduced and at this point the couple started making their own pork farmer sausage.
Lawrence & Reta’s oldest son, Gerald, started working full time for the business full time in 1982 and was joined by his brother Vern in 1986, having built experience at Save-on-Foods.
In 1995 Gerald and Vern Rempel bought the company from their parents, Lawrence & Reta and have continued to build both its well-regarded product range and its reputation for excellence.
